Why workplace coaching is critical for employee wellbeing

By John-Michael Farrar 6 minute read

Your team deserves the best chance to succeed.

Workplace coaching is a powerful tool to help employees overcome challenges and thrive in their roles. This National Mentoring Month, we’re exploring why workplace strategy coaching is vital for employee wellbeing, especially in fostering inclusion and boosting productivity.

At Remtek Workplace, we believe that tailored coaching isn’t just about improving performance—it’s about empowering individuals to feel supported, valued, and confident in their abilities.

What is workplace coaching?

Workplace coaching is all about creating personalised solutions to help employees perform at their best. Unlike general training, it focuses on practical strategies tailored to individual needs, addressing specific challenges in the workplace.

Think of it as a toolkit designed just for you or your team. Whether it’s about building confidence, improving time management, or finding ways to work more effectively with colleagues, coaching makes a tangible difference.

For neurodiverse employees, coaching might involve strategies for managing workloads or navigating social dynamics. For managers, it can mean learning how to foster inclusion and create a supportive work environment.

How does coaching improve wellbeing?

Boosting confidence

Employees often face challenges that leave them feeling stuck or unsure. Coaching provides practical tools and personalised strategies to help them regain confidence and tackle challenges head-on.

Fostering inclusion

A truly inclusive workplace values diversity and makes everyone feel part of the team. Coaching helps managers and colleagues understand each other’s strengths, break down barriers, and work together more effectively.

Driving productivity

When employees feel supported and understood, they perform better. Coaching helps individuals manage workloads, stay focused, and feel more satisfied in their roles—leading to happier, more productive teams.

Tony did my original assessment, he spent so much time ensuring that we had covered all of the issues that could affect the way in which I work. He recommended equipment to help with my position and posture whilst working at the laptop and keyboard etc. The equipment was then delivered by Ryan who had previously sent me a message to confirm delivery date a details. On arrival Ryan confirmed what was being delivered then built/constructed the chair and unpacked all of the equipment and furniture. Ryan was attentive at all times, ensuring that I understood what each item was for and how it was operated.

Update: Gareth came to complete my ergonomics assessment and later, to deliver and set up my equipment. He was extremely respectful and considerate with my health problems, showing professionalism and care above and beyond. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions, with patience and understanding. I am very happy with the ergonomic services received, and very thankful to Gareth! I am doing my AT training with Matthew Quarless, and I am so happy with my trainer. Matthew has been so patient and understanding with my problems, teaching me with my pace. I find my training so far to be extremely good, helping me to slowly overcome my difficulties.

Patrick Ramsey was a very helpful software trainer. He ran through all the useful features i had on the software which came with my computer and was patient, personable and flexible when it came to allowing me to use these features and understand what situations they may come in useful for in my work. Would definitely recommend Patrick on behalf of Remtek. Bryn Chapman-Strong

Ryan was very professional, polite and helpful in setting up all the equipment, explaining and showing how to use it. He also explained who to contact if anything goes wrong with it. I would definitely recommend Ryan in coming to set up your equipment, very knowledgeable, 5 stars from me :-)

Jane Smallman

I had an excellent experience during my training sessions with Tom. He was incredibly knowledgeable, kind and patient throughout the entire process. Thanks to his guidance, I feel more empowered to manage my workload and utilise the tools and strategies provided— for that, I highly recommend Tom Lawton.
